- "Shine bright like a...light"

Whether it's a ceiling light or a wall light, floor lamps or outdoor spotlights: light creates atmosphere. But home lighting must be well designed.Lighting determines how comfortable we feel in a room. Because depending on the contrast, the color of the light or the brightness, the light unfolds a completely different effect. Indirect lighting fixtures, for example, create soft light that induces well-being, while the workplace requires very bright, focused light. To make the most of a room visually, the lighting should therefore also be well designed. We show you how to design light for your living room, hallway, and every other area of your home and what to look out for.
The first thing you need to do is decide whether you want natural daylight or artificial light as your main lighting source. Natural daylight can be achieved with windows that let enough light into your room but are not too large and do not allow direct sunlight to enter it (in summer). If you have no windows at all and your home is in an area with little direct sunlight (e.g., a block of flats), then artificial lighting is necessary because there is not enough natural daylight to provide effective lighting in such an environment.
The living room is the heart of your home and should be a place where you can relax and have fun. That is why it is important to choose the right lighting for the living room.
Ceiling spotlights have long been a favorite when it comes to living room lighting. Centered around the room, the various spotlights can be aligned so that the room is well lit. Provided that the outlet is in the center of the room, pendant lights are also an alternative solution to provide the right lighting. However, be sure to diffuse the light from your living room pendant light. Pendant lights with glass and (lighter) fabric shades are particularly good for this.
Areas where you spend more time need additional lighting. Whether it is the favorite place for reading or the armchair and sofa around the living room table. For lighting your favorite reading corner, one option is a floor lamp that can also function as a decoration.
Also, indirect lighting in the living room is an attractive option because it creates a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
The light is not directed directly at people, but falls on ceilings, walls or floors. This has the advantage that the light is perceived as particularly soft and gentle. In addition, indirect lighting in the living room is easy to implement if your ceiling has a canopy. Simply place LED strips on it so that the light is emitted upwards and reflected from the ceiling of the living room.
The right lighting in the bedroom:
For high ceilings, a hanging lamp is indicated, which is placed high enough to provide light even when the wardrobe doors are open. Multiple light fixtures at different heights also work.
If you have a large bedroom with a low ceiling, then you should consider installing wall lights instead of hanging or standing lights. If you have a small bedroom and want to make it look bigger, then you should consider installing lamps under or next to your bed.
If you want to illuminate certain areas of the bedroom, different lamps can be used, which, when activated separately, can create a special atmosphere. From wall lamps to table lamps, from illuminated wall mirrors to bedside reading lamps.
The appropriate kitchen lighting:
The kitchen is not only a place for cooking, but also for relaxing and meeting our loved ones for meals. The right lighting can make these activities even more enjoyable.
Ceiling lights made of steel, metal, glass, or plastic are more suitable for the kitchen. Because these materials are easy to wipe and do not get the smell of cooking fumes.
A flexibly adjustable spectrum from warm white to daylight white with dimming function is also recommended for the ceiling light in the kitchen. In this way, all activities - from cleaning and trimming to comfortable seating - are perfectly covered.
It is not easy to chop vegetables in the kitchen. The light from the ceiling light does not give enough light for it. For this place a lamp under one of these cabinets or behind one of these counters. This will provide you with enough light to do your work.
The right bathroom lighting:
Color and color temperature play a special role in this room. Cool light is ideal for basic room lighting. It also has a refreshing effect so you can start your day with energy in the morning. At night, the warm light provides calm and relaxation.
The best lighting is created when you combine central lighting with mirror lighting and decorative lights you may have installed.
The mirror lights are also bright enough to put on makeup or shave. Just place a suitable wall lamp to the left and one to the right of your mirror. If you have a wide mirror, you can also place a lamp on the top edge.
