CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
The frame of the chair is made of excellent quality solid TEAK wood. When we refer to solid wood, we mean wood made entirely from the trunk of a tree. Solid wood is the most expensive choice in terms of wood but stands out for its timeless aesthetics.
TEAK is the most popular type of hardwood. It is yellow to dark brown in color, extremely heavy, high strength, weather resistant, warp resistant and does not decompose. Often, the “waters” of this wood are strong and straight. It is used for many interior constructions.
The back and seat are made of straw. Matting (straw) is the mesh made of stems or straws of plants (e.g. bulrushes, rushes, typhus), which are woven or connected and stabilized in various ways to form a stable and somewhat thick layer of small or large area for a seat, mat, awning, carpet etc. -back in the day, the straw-mat served as a mattress for the very poor.


MAINTENANCE:
The fact that TEAK is included in hardwoods makes it very easy to maintain. All it needs is a dusting and when necessary, a cleaning with a damp cloth. The same applies for the straw-matting as well.
